How to fasten your editing workflow.

Aktualisiert: 18. Mai

Why would you want to work more efficiently and faster?

For the self-employed, it means that they can do more work in their time and therefore earn more money.

Permanent employees create more broadcasting minutes during their working hours or still have some time left over to polish one or the other cut.

So much for the goals, but of course it's not that easy.

If you consider the following points, you will be able to optimize your workflow and save valuable time for you and your customers.

Very important! Find your own style and adapt only the things from other cutters that improve your workflow.

Everyone works differently and has their "quirks" or "characteristics" that may be optimal for them but may not be optimal for your workflow.

But let's finally get to the real question.

- get familiar with your editing program

- watch tutorials on YouTube or Vimeo regularly

- use plug-ins (BorisFX / Red Giant)

- watch movies and reports on TV or streaming services and pay attention to how and when cuts

are made and how they move from one situation to the next.

- learn from others

and the most important elements for me:

- create your own keyboard settings

You'll save a lot of time if you don't click everything one by one instead try to fly over the keyboard like a pianist.
